Suzann:  I would say that one of the so called "foot warmers" turned into a
baby.  My great-great grandfather was a Mulatto and all his children were list
as mulattoes until the late 1800s.  I was dropped in the early party of the 19
century.  keith

Suzann,

I'm curious.  My great-grandfather "passed" from mulatto to white.  I was
completely unaware of this blip in my racial background until a few years ago.
Now I find in trying to understand and write about this aspect of the family
history that it is probably impossible for me to appreciate the thoughts and
feelings and actions of my mulatto family.

I don't know if my problem falls into the area of your interest.  If it does,
know that my personal computer is down and I check in at the library every
couple of days.  I hope to be back on line on my own computer soon.

I'm co-editor of an anthology entitled *Women Writing on Family: Tips on
Writing, Teaching and Publishing*, to be published by Key in 2011.  We're
interested in expanding the scope to include the perspective of women
writing about their ancestors.

Please contact me if you're interested in learning more.
