The Bristol City chancery causes, 1890-1912, have been digitized and added
to the Library's Chancery Records Index. The index and images are freely
available on the website-
https://www.virginiamemory.com/collections/chancery/

Each of Virginia's circuit courts created chancery records. These records
contain considerable historical and genealogical information. Because
chancery causes rely so heavily on testimony from witnesses, they offer a
unique glimpse into the lives of Virginians from the early 18th century
through the First World War.
