The Library Shop at the Library of Virginia is in a state of transition.
As many of you know the Library of Virginia Foundation manages the Shop
and proceeds from sales help underwrite programs and projects of the
Library of Virginia. Due to the economic downturn the Library Shop has in
recent months struggled to remain profitable.

Currently, an executive MBA team from Virginia Commonwealth University is
conducting a business plan study of the Shop. The team is developing a
business plan that identifies an effective strategy for distribution of
the Library's publications, prints, maps and other collection-related
items. The study will be completed in May, 2004. At that time the
Foundation Board will review the study and make a determination as to the
future of the Library Shop.

As part of the business plan study, the MBA team is conducting an online
survey at http://www.lva.lib.va.us/whatwedo/giftshop.asp

Please consider participating in this survey. We appreciate your
patronage and look forward to serving you in the future.
