On Ancestry.com, I found his father as William Meeks born August 8, 1778 in
Albemarle County, VA  and died September 30, 1850 in Kanawha County, VA (WV)
at the age of 72.  

His mother Maria Caterina Giannini. Maria was born April 20, 1771 and died
April 29, 1863 at the age of 92 in Kanawha County, WV. She was born in
Fibbialla Dei, Lucca, Toscana.
He was  married to Mary Bramham.  
William and Maria married July 17, 1793 in Albermarle County, VA.
William Meeks father was Atha Meeks (1750 - 1812) and Margaret Sneed (1759 -
1843)
Maria's parents were Giovanni Antonio Giannini and Maria Domenica Modena.

I am looking for any information on the parents of my gggrandfather, Edmund
Winston Meeks. 
  a.. He was born abt 1796 we believe in Albemarle County. 
  b.. He served in Norfolk in the 4th, 5th, and 6th Virginia Militia in the
war of 1812. 
  c.. He married Mary Bramham (16 Feb1819) in Albemarle County. 
  d.. He worked as a freeman at Monticello from 1819-1823 as a cooper and
carpenter. 
  e.. He was in the 1830 Albemarle County Census. 
  f.. He was in the 1840 Alleghany County Census.  
  g.. He was in the 1850 Monroe County Census. 
  h.. He died in 1854 in Monroe County.
Would appreciate any help or suggestions.
