The next program in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the
Treasure House lecture series will be held at noon on Tuesday, 14
November, 2006 in the conference rooms adjacent to the lobby of the
Library of Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond. The
speaker will be Virginia Dunn, Archives Research Services Manager. She
will present a program entitled Ballots Are Stronger Than Bullets:
Election Records at the Library of Virginia, and will give a brief
history of elections in Virginia and discuss the various kinds of
election records held at the Library of Virginia, including published
resources, early poll lists, returns for federal and state offices,
Confederate elections, and post-Civil War records while Virginia was
under military rule. 

 
There is free underground parking for Library patrons but please note
