I have found the following book to be helpful in sorting out the value of
evidence. Genealogical Evidence by Noel Stevenson. subtitled A Guide to the
Standard of Proof Relating to Pedigrees Ancestry Heirship and Family History.
Published in 1979 so it may take some looking to find a copy. It is not an easy
read so be prepared to study... but excellent in helping you weigh the strength
of info you find.   BJ
