I believe Helen Leary discussed this in one of her lectures that I
attended. Paul Drake, in his book "What Did They Mean by That," defines
infant as a child through the seventh year; at law, one under twenty-one
years, e.g, "As now, a person was in natural infancy until the eighth
birthday, and was a minor - a legal infant - until one and twenty.'"

Barbara Jean Evans, in her book, "The New A to Zax," as "infant". Then
later a person, who alhough he may be six feet tall, is not of legal age
and therefore is still a minor

Take your pick

Pat.
