Good morning Listers,
After a successful trip to LVA last week where I was able to see 3
chancery suits from Chesterfield Co, VA in the Archives Room, LVA, I
now have as many questions as answers.

Seek any info regarding James Lawrence TOWNLEY, born before 1819.
His mother was Mrs. Martha ALLEN, d. July 1846, Chesterfield
Co., VA. James Lawrence borrowed $25.00 in January 1843 from George
N. WILSON of Chesterfield Co., VA. James
L., residing in city of Richmond, VA at time of loan didn't repay the
debt. In May 1847, George N. Wilson sued James L.
Townley for repayment. By then, James L. was no longer in Virginia.
He and his half-sister Hypatia Allen, wife of George N.
Allen, inherited from their mother Martha Allen. Who are James
Lawrence Townley's father, what is his mother's maiden
name and where did James L. go after he left VA?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Regards,
Marigay Holloway
