"Straight to the Source: An Introduction to Research Using the Archival
Records at the Library of Virginia," now in its eighteenth year, takes
place on Friday, March 26, 8:30-4:00, at the Library, 800 East Broad
Street, Richmond. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Virginia
State Archives in cooperation with the Library of Virginia. Plan to
attend and hear professional archival staff share their expertise on
using a variety of unique collections for genealogical and local history
research. Sessions include informative insights on researching
students, teachers and public schools; finding and using church records;
using records at the Library in researching West Virginia ancestors; and
expert advice on using Virginia topographic and related maps in your
research.

This is a popular workshop and space is limited. Preregistration is
required by March 22. The cost for members is $25. The cost for
non-members of the Friends is $40. Registration includes a box lunch.
You may join the Friends for $25 and receive the member's rate.

For registration information, contact straight.to.the.source @
gmail.com, or Anne Taylor Brown, 804-741-0136, [log in to unmask]
