In short, when you went to bed in the American colonies on the evening =
of Sept. 2, 1752, you woke up on the morning of Sept. 14,
And some people rioted because they had been cheated out of nearly two weeks
of their lives!  Some preachers complained that they were tampering with God's
time.

I always think of them when I hear about the farmer who complained about
Roosevelt's plan to add more daylight by going to daylight savings time during WW
II that the crops were burning up in the fields as it was and they certainly
didn't want another hour of daylight!
