Subject: Re: Bedford VA abt 1750...Jeremiah Meador
From: Bill Davidson <[log in to unmask]>

Bill, the web page was good but it seems to fall apart and become
disorganized with Jeremiah Meador. I thought it was me at first and read that
section several times and finally decided that it looks like a section was cut
out or something. That has been the way with Jeremiah.

Your info:
For what it is worth, I note that this:

http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~janet/Meador.html

shows that the first wife of Jeremiah Meador (Jeremiah is shown on this
webpage as having been born about 1746 and as having died on 27 Jan
1817...but maybe this was simply the date that his will was probated, if he
left a will) was a Rachel (versus a Caroline or an Elizabeth). This also
shows that the widow Mrs. Elizabeth Wood (the widow of an Ambrose Wood)
married a Jeremiah Meador in Bedford Co., VA, sometime after Ambrose Wood
died in 1807 (I PRESUME that this was the Elizabeth who married "your"
Jeremiah Meador as his apparent last wife). This Rachel is shown with a
birth year of about 1756, so I guess Jeremiah COULD have married a Caroline
in 1766 and then married a Rachel as his second wife at some later date
(with Elizabeth possibly being Jeremiah's THIRD wife).

I also note from the above webpage that this overall Meador family married
into the same Tribble family that married into the Abraham Brown family of
Caroline Co., VA (Abraham Brown was originally out of Essex Co., VA, and he
married Mary Tribble). Per a lot of research, Abraham Brown strongly
appears to have been a member of the same overall Brown family as my
mother's Brown family. A Tribble/Meador descendant named Shadrack Tribble
(who is also shown on the above webpage) married an Elizabeth Coleman, and
I
have some information on their children and grandchildren, should you have
any interest in that branch of the Tribble/Meador family.

Comments?

Bill Davidson

I appreciate your offer and maybe there will be a connection if I follow other
paths that don't at first appear to be connected. Based on mtDna I believe
there is a connection with an Elizabeth Brown b 1776, whose mother is Mary
Turner, b 1752. Mary Turner is the right age to be a sibling or cousin to
Jeremiah Meador's first wife. Anyway, they have an exact mtDna match to
Jeremiah's wife with should be the same as mine and come from VA. Also,
there was a lot of intermarriage with Meador in that clan too. I just haven't
found the connection yet. So if your Brown research show anything that
would be helpful, I would be grateful to get past this dead end.

Mary
