One other possibility occurs.  During the civil war a number of Virginia 
maps were made (many including names of property holders). They're 
stored<http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/collections/civil_war_maps/> and 
accessible at the Library of Congress.   I deleted your original query 
so don't know what location you need.
