The next program in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the
Treasure House lecture series will take place at noon on Tuesday, 19
April 2005 in the conference rooms adjacent to the lobby in the Library
of Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond. Vincent
Brooks, senior archivist for architectural records at the Library of
Virginia, will present an illustrated talk on Richmond architecture that
has been demolished and offer guidance on resources to research these
structures and other existing buildings. Brooks will cover the resources
of the Richmond Bureau of Permits and Inspections; the Mutual Assurance
Society Policies; general architectural files; Virginia Historical
Inventory; Richmond Esthetic Survey and other relevant Library of
Virginia collections. He will provide an overview of each collection
with a "nuts and bolts" description of its use.There is free underground
parking for Library patrons, but please note that space is limited. For
