To provide and ending of sorts to this thread, a 1733 map shows the land of A. Williams (Anthony was bequeathed this by his father, Lewis) on the south bank of the Meherrin River where the Cutawisky Creek land mark is discernible along its south side as well. George and I have been researching this privately. This has been a good learning exercise with contributions by several listers, but primarily Joy King who initiated investigation of Hertford Co. NC that bordered old Nansemond Co. VA. Note how close the land lies to the state boundary line (in 1733) that demonstrates the controversy over which state these and other lands were within prior to surveys of the 1700's and later. Possibly George Williams will have further updates or maybe another good question.
