The Amherst County Museum & Historical Society will host a booksigning
on Saturday, 22 January 2005 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon. Be sure to
drop by and meet Bob Faught, author of the newly released _Amherst Men
in Gray_, and join us for discussion about these Amherst County men who
fought in the Civil War.

Companies he researched include the Johnson Guard/Long Mountain Boys,
the Amherst/Pedlar Mills Guard, the Southern Rights Guard and Rifle
Grays, the Rough & Readies, the Floyd Gamecocks, the Amherst Mounted
Rangers, Kirkpatrick's Battery and the 19th and 20th battalions of
Virginia Heavy Artillery.

The Museum is located at 154 South Main Street in the town of Amherst,
about two blocks south of the Business 29/60 circle. Come join us!

Copies of the book may be ordered by mail--see the Museum's website at
http://members.aol.com/achmuseum for details.
