CHESAPEAK, [VA]

        Earl R. Wyant, 79, of the 2600 block of Powell Circle, died June 29, 2001,
at his residence.
        Born in Shenandoah, Va., Mr. Wyant was a retired procurement supervisor of
Atlantic Wood Industries.  He was a member of Deep Creek United Methodist
Church; American Followship Masonic Lodge No 148; Portsmouth Scottish Rite
Bodies; Portsmouth and Chesapeake Shrine Clubs; Portsmouth Moose Lodge No.
898; Legion of the Moose; American Legion Post No. 280; and the Virginia
Forest Products Association.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
        He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine N. Wyant; a daughter,
Joy W. Boone of Lewes, Del.; a son Taylor R. Wyant and wife, Bonnie of
Chesapeake; two sisters, Jean St. Clair and husband, Ralph and Lucille Bass
and husband, Joe; a brother, Ray Wyant and wife, Lois; three grandchildren,
Michael Wyant, Andrea Caswell and husband Paul, Karen Lones and husband
Steve; and five great-grandchildren.
        A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Snellings Funeral Home, George
Washington Highway Chapel, by the Rev. Danny J. Kesner with burial in
Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.  Family will be at the funeral home Sunday from
7 70 8:30 p.m.  Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.
Masonic rites will be accorded at the funeral home.
