Several days ago on this list LVA staff called attention to Lost Records.  I was unaware of this resource and appreciate the posting.  I was fortunate to find an ancestor's will.  Since the "lost" will was in addition to the will recorded when he died, it made clear certain things that had occurred and provided a date range.  Now I want to see the court case this "lost" will came from.  I want the context.

How do I find it?  I've looked in the chancery index and it's not there.  Do I have to order and scan through all the microfilms looking for it?  Do the Record Number (17040) and/or the pid (57836) tell its whereabouts?  It is a Hanover County Lost Record, specifically a 1793 will of John Phillips.

Thank you very much.  --Sally Phillips
