There's a Hite's Run (stream) in Breckinridge Co, KY, which gave it's name to the area. You might try looking up the records to see if it was a deed/grant to someone with Virginia ties. You never know what will connect.
Good luck - Janice

Subject: [VA-ROOTS] Jost Hite, Opequon
Around 1732 Jost Hite was instrumental in bringing 140 families to settle in the
Opequon area of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Supposedly many of these
families were from New York and New Jersey. Does anyone know if there are any
lists of the names of the families?
Thanks for any help.
Carolyn
