I believe at one time in history some of the residents of Virginia who
lived in the section claimed by Pennsylvania had a choice of whether they
wanted to be Virginia or Pennsylvania residents, and therefore the records
have to be looked for in both states. I believe this information came from
the Southwestern Pennslvania Genealogical Society. Please correct me if I'm
wrong.
