"The Act granting bounty land to certain Officers and Soldiers who have been
engaged in the Military service of the United States, passed September the
29th, 1850."

This is an exact quote from the bounty land application of my GGrandfather,
Gideon French in TN in 1851, who served at the Battle of New Oleans with
Andrew Jackson.
