I have subscribed to ancestry.com and found very worthy information. First,
the censuses; they are basic research. I found information on my early PERRY
line in MA. I found the original records (deeds and wills that confirmed or
straightened out family relationships) for one of my son-in-law's lines in
Gloucestershire, England, in the 1500s and 1600s. I don't think I could have found
that information any place else except in England, and although I would love to
go to England to research, I am not able to do so. I do not understand why
people are saying that the information on ancestry.com is incorrect. It comes
from original sources, excellent books, etc. You can tell that is the case just
by reading the titles of the works that ancestry.com offers. My only problem
with them is that their fees are getting steep for one on my budget. I am not
now a member of ancestry.com.
