hello Laura,

I have looked up the term 'good' in my A  TO ZAX dictionary by Barbara Jean 
Evans.  The term 'goodman' was a Colonial term for the head of a household. 
And, there are other terms to which 'good' may have reference.  i.e., good 
lord, goodson, goodsire.
