I have a letter written by Jared Morgan Armstrong + a form for donations of
clothing, etc., and he was a parolled prisoner at Point Lookout. Armstrong
said he was sure they'd gain
their "independence" soon. He wrote this letter to his uncle Joseph
Armstrong of Coles Co.,
IL; Jared was from Highland Co., VA...a confederate...and the uncle a union
soldier. I made
a copy of these writings last year and gave them to Diane Rosebraugh Klein,
President, the
Highland Co (VA) Historical Society. Erik P Conard-----Denver
