Has anyone figured in that the library was closed more already on Saturdays and Mondays for holidays, bike races, marathons and events than Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday which would affect the calculations of which days the library was used most? I always checked the calendar before making my plans after finding the library closed one visit for a reason other than holiday or weather. I live in Florida and work. Almost all my visits were centered around the weekends by taking a Friday or Monday off - missing only one or two days of work. Now I will be unable to come and unwilling to come if I must use a week's vacation to do so. And, yes, the tourism dollars will definitely be lost from library visitors. What a shame and very upsetting. Also, the loss of professional staff working at LVA - I shudder to think that some of those who have been there the longest and are most knowledgeable will be the ones with higher incomes and the ones who will be asked to retire or will be laid off.
More notice would also have been appreciated instead of one Saturday left before closing every Saturday. I even attempted to come this weekend but the cost was prohibitive on such short notice as well as difficult to rearrange work schedules to accommodate unscheduled time off.
