This message is a plea for information to VA Listers in the Salem, VA ,area.
I have just learned that my ancestral home has just beem demolished. It
supposedly happened on Monday of this week(August 13). The address I
remember so well--it is(was) 909 Tennessee Street, Salem, VA. My grandfather
obtained a deed for this property in 1903. The property, however, has long
since passed from our family's hands. I would like to know if this event was
listed in the daily papers of the area and how I can obtain the necessary
information for my family history files. Any and all information will be
appreciated. I live far away from VA and haven't ben in that area for many
years.
