For any VA researcher who desires to know a bit more about Brentsville,
please check out our website at http://www.brentsville.org We are working
to restore the 1822 Courthouse where General Eppa Hunton practiced law.

I have also been researching Brentsville families for about four years. If
anyone has Brentsville roots, I would love to hear from you. Feel free to
contact me privately at [log in to unmask]

Thanks,
Pamela Myer Sackett
Chairman, Friends of Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre

Subject: Virginia Gentleman--

Col. Eppa Hunton was the Commanding Officer of the 8th Virginia Volunteer
Infantry, CSA during the Civil War. He had lived in Brentsville before the
war. He led the 8th in Pickett's Charge at Gettysburg. He had one daughter
for sure--and maybe more children. After the war he became a U.S. Senator
from Virginia. Do you know how I can trace his descendants and contact
them?
