Greetings - the Virginia Historical Inventory database has mention of Mt.
Crawford.
Please do feel free to use this database until we release it to the public.
Soon, I will be asking you for help as we conclude the project and write the
final report to the Mellon Foundation!

Try a keyword search on:
Mt. Crawford
It is located in Rockingham County just south of Harrisonburg on Route 11.
One of the records has cemetery inscriptions - lots of possiblities here!
You also might want to poke around more in the database for Rockingham
County and
Harrisonburg.
Note: we are still in the process of linking the images of the reports,
maps and photographs, so if you find something you need, please contact me
directly.
Thanks!
Elizabeth

Does anyone have any information on the town of Mt. Crawford, Va. It is
in the Shenandoah area, a small place. I am wondering if it is named for
William Henry Crawford from that area. Is there any information on the
Crawford family? Thanks, PJ
