Greetings All!

A new biography of John J. Smallwood is due out in early November 2010. 
He was an important African American educator in early twentieth century Surry County. Information will be posted at the WHAT'S NEW page at the Surry County Historical Society web site as it becomes available. A book-signing event is being planned.
