To Nettie Schreiner-Yantis, and anyone else who knows:

Using the new searchable database of Land Office Records I found a
reference to my ancestor in 1787 on the Back River of the Roanoke River in
Botetourt Co.  Later this man lived on the Bluestone River very near it's
juncture with the New River in what today's West Va.

What was the Back River of the Roanoke River in 1787?  Could it be today's
Bluestone River?
