By the way, I agree that he was never in COMMAND of the Virginia.  From
what I have read, he was in charge of the armament only, but not in
command of the ship.  It has been a while, but as recall, there are
several things on the Internet about Hunter and his brother General John
Davidson.  The link I provided was only one of many.
