According to the book Religious Life of Virginia in the Seventeenth Century,
by George MacLaren Brydon, there were 51 parishes in Virginia as of July 8,
1702.  This list is beneficial in locating parishes that are listed in deeds,
wills, etc when the county is not noted.  You will note that several parishes
covered parts of 2 different counties, these are noted by "part".  They are
as follows:
