Subject: Missing VA vital records
To: [log in to unmask]

I am qualified through my ancestors to have entry in the Jamestown Society
but have a question. I understand that around turn of the century in 1900
that birth records were not maintained or required. How are others
"providing documented evidence" of a birth during this period? My paternal
g-father was born in 1900 and is one of those whose birth records do not
exist.

As a [log in to unmask] question, does anyone know the exact
dates that are "missing?"

Thanks,
Mark
