I think that these two men were merchants in Fairfax County circa 1760-1772
(or later). They had an extensive account with Dr. Richard Lingan Hall who
was living with Hannah (Lee) Corbin in Westmoreland County, VA at Peckatone
Plantation . George Simpson's will in Fairfax Co. is dated 1782 (he does not
mention Thomas) . They ARE both listed in the time period as being in Fairfax
Co.In a Minute Book(1756) page 663, George Simpson is licensed to keep an
ordinary. Also there are two separate minute book entries from 18 July 1791 that
list George and Thomas Simpson as owning land on the road from the Ponds on
Pohick Road to Pohick Church (Minute Book 1798, page 252.
Dr. Hall lived in Fairfax County until he came to Westmoreland County
and doctored Gawin Corbin until he died in January 1760- this was the time when
Dr. Hall moved from the schoolhouse up to the plantation house with Hannah.
Bill McCarty (descenddant of Hannah)
