I am working on my family history--much of it in VA. This summer I
stopped at the Wise County Courthouse and was told they did not have
birth/death certificates...I was looking for info from the 19th century
before Dickenson County was formed. Is it possible that the information
is available at the VA Vital statistics office? I downloaded the request
form, but it asks for relationship and reason for the request. Will they
accept a ggg-grandfather, and genealogy as a reason?
