Cynthia,

Can we tie down, more precisely, that phrase "birthdate is listed"? (All sources are not created equal.) What record cites this date as the birth date? Is it an official document created at the time? Is it something a descendant wrote generations later? Is it in a database you found somewhere?

If the latter, have you backtracked that database entry to the source from which it was derived and--if so--was that source an original record created by someone with firsthand knowledge, or does it represent a secondhand assertion?

The cause of your problem (or its solution) can't be determined until we define the nature of the source in which you found the date.

Elizabeth
