The next event in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the
Treasure House Lecture Series will take place at noon on Tuesday, 21
November 2000, in Conference Room A adjacent to the lobby of the Library of
Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond.

The speaker will be Dr. Gregg Kimball, Assistant Director of the Division of
Publications and Educational Services, and his topic will be "Richmond,
Virginia, and the World of the 1850s," which is derived from his brand new
book entitled AMERICAN CITY, SOUTHERN PLACE: A CULTURAL HISTORY OF
ANTEBELLUM RICHMOND, published by the University of Georgia Press. Dr.
Kimball will sign copies of his book after the lecture.
