  One word of caution for those who are asked to give a Quit Claim
  Deed in the present day.  It would be to check out the  property
  in question, especially if  they offer you  a 'bit'  of money to
  sign it. For  example,  during WW11, my father-in-law, as well as
  his two sons, were offered $100 each to sign  Quit Claim Deeds to
  a piece of property that my f-in-l said he THOUGHT it may have
  been his grandfather's i a distant town. I had the description of
  the property and  via long distance phone calls, found out it was
  right downtown, a choice piece of property.  Guess what,   ( Now
  if his grandfather had any interest in that property it was
  50 years before 1942!   I upped the price to $500 for each of
  them.  ....
