Sorry, I was not clear in my previous transmittal:

Does anyone know which of the parent counties (Essex, King and Queen, and
King William) became the area around Spotsylvania Courthouse when
Spotsylvania County was formed in 1720 - 21? Spotsylvania Courthouse is
located at 38 degrees 11 minutes 52 seconds N and 077 degrees 35 minutes 17
seconds W -- Southwest of Fredericksburg and borders the Spotsylvania
Battlefield.
