Dear Va-Roots,

I have been researching the families of Combs, Kirk, Edmundson (all with
various spellings!!!) They seem to start out in Va in about 1619 and
migrate (or boundaries change) to WVa and KY.

Could someone recommend a "timeline" style history or outline of the
area? I want to know when "X" happened, migration times and patterns of
1620-1770's.

I realise this may be SEVERAL books and not the over view I would
prefer, but I need the background to help me fill in the "why's and
when's" of my family's trail ever westward.
