I agree with Paul that anything on the internet is a here one minute and gone the next.

Regarding family histories and other genealogy materials would it not be a better idea to give a copy to the LDS? They preserve everything about family histories and genealogy in the granite mountain in Utah.

The LDS are currently scanning everything they have preserved in the granite mountain and over the next couple of years will make it available on the internet. The great thing about this is they have also been going to state archives and county courthouses and scanning all their old documents so that soon all of them will be on the net. This would include all those old wills, court, land, estate and other documents that now we must travel to the various courthouse to access. Of course some would still like to do that just for the feel and smell of all those old musty, dusty papers, plus the thrill of seeing your great-great-greats actual signature.
