I would appreciate any information on Joseph CARSON, b.c. 1785 in
Frederick Co., VA. These are his census records for 1860 and 1870
Culpeper Co. where he was living with his second wife Jane PAYNE:

1860 Culpeper Co., VA., P. O. Homeland.
Joseph Carson, WM 75, Meth. Minister, b. Frederick Co., VA
Jane Carson, WF 52, b. Culpeper Co.
Bettie A. Carson, WF 17, b. Rappahannock
Fanny M. Payne, WF 44, b. Culpeper
Emily Payne, WF 50, b. Culpeper
William B. Stewart, WM 14, b. Culpeper.

1870 Culpeper Co., VA. p 63. Catalpa Twp.
Joseph Carson, WM 85, Methodist minister for 66 yrs, b.VA
Jane M. Carson, WF 64, keeping house, b. VA
Bettie A. Carson, WF 29, b. VA
Mary E. Gee, WF 60, at home, b. VA

Joseph CARSON married Amanda SPINDLE in Rappahannock Co. in 1839. She
died in 1841. He married Jane PAYNE in Culpeper Co. in 1848. At the time
of his marriage to Amanda, he was 54. I am interested in knowing if he
had a family previous to this.

Thanks for any help.

Ann
