Are you familiar with Ivor Noel Hume's book Martin's Hundred? It discusses
this situation to some degree. It suggest that most of the Martin's Hundred
Society's records must have either have been discarded when the company
folded or have burned when the City of London was consumed in the great
fire of 1666. It also suggest that that those who survived the massacre put
down fresh roots from which eventually Merchant's Hundred developed.
