Hello,
I hope this message isn't too confusing.
I am attempting to find the answers to some questions I have regarding
my Gilmore family. I am a descendant of two different daughters of
Frances EUBANK and Joseph GILMORE who married about 1769 in Albemarle
Co., VA. Some of their children moved to Sumner Co., TN, and then to
Allen Co., KY. I show they had 10 children, and I will list those
below. In Joseph's will (1828 in Albemarle Co.), he mentions 7 children
[William, Thomas, John, Catharine, Elizabeth, Frances and Polly], and a
couple of granddaughters [Sally Cloer and Fanny Strange - daughters of
Anna Gilmore Cloar] . I found an administration in Albemarle Co. in
1821 for a Joseph Gilmore, so I am assuming this was a son of Frances
and Joseph.
This is the way I have the family now:

I am confused about sons John, Eubank, and Joseph. Albemarle Co., VA
Marriages, 1780-1853, page 134: "Joseph Gilmore & Mary Ann Harlan 1 Sep
1817; b- Joseph Harlan (Father) who gives his consent wit- William
Wertenbaker [Marr. Bonds, 1806-17]" This indicates son Joseph married
Mary Ann Harlan, but from information that has been provided to me, son
John E. married Mary Ann Harlan. I am thinking that perhaps the name in
the book should have been John instead of Joseph, and Joseph is the one
who died in 1821, Albemarle Co.
Also, I am confused about sons John E. and Eubank. I think they are the
same person, and that he moved to Sumner Co., TN, and that his name was
John Eubank Gilmore. The age is right for a John E. Gilmore in Sumner
Co. to be Eubank Gilmore.
I have found information on the above folks, and other people have
shared information with me.
Something else that is confusing is that I have a typed copy of a
Wingfield Family Bible. A daughter of William Gilmore (Frances
Elizabeth Gilmore) married Edward Wingfield 12 Nov 1835 in Albemarle
Co. This Bible was copied in 1927, and it has different information
than what I show above. This is what the Bible shows:

Smith, Ark. 1865 [or 1855]

John Wesley and David never married.
All of Grandpa's Brothers (Henry) were born in Charlottesville, VA, but
Henry who was born in Lewis Co., and Francis born in Iowa, Van Buren Co.

I am a descendant of daughters Catherine and Elizabeth. Both of them
moved to Sumner Co., TN, along with sisters Frances and Mary, and
brothers Thomas and John Eubank Gilmore. About 1810, Catherine and
William Ferguson moved to Barren Co. to an area that became Allen Co.,
KY in 1815.
If anyone has any information about any of these folks, I would be very
glad to hear from you.
Thank you, and have a good day.
Best wishes,
