The Library of Virginia is seeking an Archivist for the Circuit Court
Records Program in the Description Services Branch to analyze, arrange, and
describe complex series of judgments and miscellaneous papers; and analyze,
arrange, describe, and index chancery papers to ensure the preservation and
accessibility of Virginia court records to the general public and various
government entities.  Candidates should have considerable knowledge of
national archival standards, professional conservation guidelines, and
Virginia local history and legal processes.
The successful candidate will have a Masters degree in U.S. history, library
science, or a related field; and basic skills in operating computer software
[including Access and Word] programs. Formal training in archival procedures
and experience in an archival repository is preferred.
