If you have the time I would urge everyone to get involved with this very important project. Go to familysearch.org and click on News to see what all they are putting on the internet.

All those national, state, county and city records that the LDS has microfilmed over the years are included.

Eventually you should be able to access wills, settlements and accounts of estates, births, marriages, deaths, deeds, land transfers, etc.

They are digitizing NARA's, the Allen County Library's records and state, county and city histories as well as family histories.

They are currently along with footnote.com digitizing NARA's Revenluntary War Records. Footnote.com is in the process of doing the Civil War Records.

Check out genealogybank.com for historical newspapers, documents, books. Also obits from 1977 to present and the SSDI.

Both footnote and genealogybank are paid sites but for less that $60.00 per year. Footnote does have a free search. Footnote also allows you to uploard copies of your historical documents.
