Perhaps someone  can give me some information. would  anyone know the name of 
the first wife of James Steptoe ca. 17090-1757)of Hominy  Hall in 
Westmoreland Co.. He was a Colonel as well as a physician. His second  wife was Elizabeth 
Eskridge Aylett9 ca. 1718-ca. 1783) She was daughter of Col.  George Eskridge 
and widow of William Aylett (1703-1744) of Nominy and mother of  Anne Aylett 
(ca. 1739-1768) the first wife of Richarfd Henry Lee and Mary Aylett  (ca. 
1741-post 1793) who married thomas Ludwell Lee. Dr. Steptoe and Elizabeth  had 
four sons but Dr. Steptoe also had two daughters before he married  Elizabeth. 
These daughters were (first) Anne Steptoe (1737-1777) who married  first 
Willoughby Allerton (ca. 1736-1758) of the Narrows, the last of the  Virginia 
Allertons, and then as his forth wife, Col./ Samuel Washington  (1734-1781) of 
Harewood and (second) Elizabeth Steptoe (1743-1789) who married  first Philip 
Ludwell Lee (17726/7- 1775) of Stratford and second (as the second  of his three 
wives) Philip Richard Fendall (1734-1805). William M. McCarty, MD
