Thank you for your reply. I looked at what deedmapper is capable of and I think it would be great software. Unfortunately $100 is a little more than I wanted to pay since I would only occasionally use the software. I noticed another software Metes and Bounds that allowed me to download a version to try. It is not nearly as good as deedmapper but it served its purpose for what I needed.

I thought that I would ask this forum if anyone knew of or would recommend 
software that would plot information found in old deeds and surveys?  
Preferably something not too expensive.
