Thanks.  Yes...that 1795 will is for "my" Colonel Maurice Smith.  The 1822 
chancery case shows that Patty Smith and Catey Smith had also married by 
then, and I know that the "Webb husband" of Frances (Smith) Webb had died in 
1815 (and the Colonel's only son, John Smith, had also died by 1822).  I 
assume that the "distribution fractions" (7/16, 7/16 and 2/16) in the 1822 
chancery case were based simply on the total number of the Colonel's living 
descendants for each of the three listed "heir representatives."
