Am searching for family information on a Colonel William Elisha Peters, CSA.
The VA Regimental History book that deals with the 21st VA Cavalry tells us a

little about William Elisha Peters' family history. He was born 18 August
1829 on his father's plantation "Dellacarlla" in Bedford County, VA. He died
22 March 1906 of pneumonia & was interred at the Sheffey Cemetery in
Marlon/Marion/Marton. (Can't read the writing) It was the family cemetery of
his wife, Margaret Sheffey, whom he married in 1858. For a time during the
war, while recuperating from a wound, he served as a state senator from
Washington County, VA. He was a professor of Latin at the University of VA
after the war.

What more is known about Col. William Elisha Peters & his ancestry? I look
forward to reading your E-mails.

Sincerely,

Mike Peters
