The article to which I refered was titled Transported Jacobite Rebels, 1716,
and was written by Clifford Neal Smith.  639 Scots were taken prisoner after
the battle of Preston and forced to Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina, Leeward
Islands. Barbadoes, and Jamica.
